Why do some comicbook superhereos wear their underpants on the outside?

Could it be that Superman hates getting wedgies from fellow superheroes?

A couple of reasons: 1) They’re superheroes, they can do anything and get away with it 2) They’re too busy saving the world so putting on clothes can get kind of hectic 3) Yes, they don’t like wedgies from fellow supers 4) They never have to change it because it’s on the outside (ewww!) Haha…

who is the most mysterious comicbook or graphicnovel character ever created?

Is it true that Joss Whedon is continuing the Buffy series as a comicbook series?

Yes, Season 8 of Buffy is currently being published by Dark Horse comics. Issue #4 is the latest issue out. Joss is writing the first 6 issues then other writers like Brian K. Vaughan and Jeph Loeb are writing storyarcs, with Joss writing occasional issues in between and writing the final storyarc

Don’t worry if you’re getting into this late as the first 5 issues will all be collected into a tradepaperback format out in November

Who is your favorite Canadian comicbook character besides Wolverine?

I ask this question because Woverine is a fan fave and not many people can chose another CDN character.

Depends — do you mean any comic-book character whose place of birth is listed as Canadian, or any character starring in a Canadian-produced comic book?

I’m assuming any character who hails from the land that’s strong and free, so in that case my vote has to go to two people, a hero and a villain:

Northstar started out as a team member of Alpha Flight, with little to distinguish him from most of the rest of the Marvel universe. In the early Alpha Flight issues, he was depicted as arrogant and elitist (playing off a popular English-Canadian stereotype of French-Canadians), and it took forever for Marvel to ‘fess up and admit he was gay (something his creators said they planned from the get-go, but were forbidden to acknowledge by company fiat). Even then, it took a long time for him to really get interesting — not until he joined the X-Men, imho.

The rest of Alpha Flight? Meh. Guardian was too upstanding, Puck a blatant Wolverine knock-off and the rest too full of the usual Marvel angst and soap operatics. By the time they got to admitting such characters as Box and the dude who could create past and future versions of himself (so memorable I can’t even remember his name right now), it was time to bail big time.

Villain: Gotta be the Mist from Robinson’s Sandman series. He was supposedly a Canadian soldier in WWI who got his weird powers on the battlefield and then went and did battle with Starman and his sons when they took up the mantle. His final battle with his nemesis — and the result of said battle — is one of the finest moments in comics in the past 10 years.

Finally, I gotta put in a word for Dishman. Based on an actual story about radioactive dishes in a Canadian magazine, it lasted only 1 issue in 1988, but my God it’s a funny read. Cdn. John MacLeod tells a story about a teacher who discovers one day he has the power to wave his hand and clean dirty dishes… but just that. So of course, he has to put on a costume and go fight crime, right? Totally hilarious as a concept, and one of the best black and whites to come out of the 80s. Almost impossible to find now, but well worth the look.

What Is Your Favorite Comicbook Character Costume?

This question was inspired while watching the Justice League. I have a few favorites, but if I had to choose only one it would be Dr. Strange’s costume. Its cool.

I also like Blade’s costume. Wesley Snipes’ Blade or Blade The Series costume.

The new Black Panther costume is slick as well.

Always liked Batman’s and Thor’s too.

DC: #1. Batman. Always a favorite for me, love the style, cape, ears, mask, belt, symbol.

#2. Green Lantern. (Hal Jordan and Jon Stewart versions) Love the design and colors.

#3. Flash. (Wally West). Simple, yet it’s colors, mask, "radio antennae" ears, symbol all scream SPEED!!!

MARVEL: #1. Capt. America. Nothing represents the Super-Soldier better than his classic red, white, and blue costume, it has chain mail, a kickin’ shield, and a great representation of the U.S. Flag’s colors in the desgn.

#2. Spider-Man. The webbing, the flippin’ eyes, the colors, everything screams "superhero" slick and spiderness.(is that a word?)

#3. Black Panther. Such a simple design, yet, at the same time, I have always liked the way it gives a mysterious, feline feeling, esp. the ears and gloves. Not much for the little cape, but I like everything else about the Wakandan King’s garb.

Anyone know whats up with the 4th Runaways comicbook? ?

Ok ive been waiting for the 4th runaways but i don’t know anything about it yet. My mom bought me a premiere addition thinking that it was some of the 4th one but I read it and im not sure if it is It didn’t start out where the 3rd one left off.

new version (this is "Vol 3") usually means a new story and new creative team
also thanks for reminding me that a new runaways series started, that was a really good series

actually it depends if you are reading the Trade Paperbacks(collected issues) or the single issues
the Trade Paperbacks started "Vol 2" at the 4th one, so it’s a whole new story
I think that’s what you’re talking about

Would an Exotic Dancer in a comicbook be considered mature content?

I’m making a webcomic with a character that was an exotic dancer. She won’t strip or anything, just dance on the pole. This content considered mature or just PG -13?

It’s up to whoever rates it & their guidelines? I say no. Wasn’t Strippela on cable with the same issue? As long as no naughty bites are exposed, I’ll think no way on mature content. Overall, it doesn’t matter their job or what they DO! Just the content of what’s depictred on the page?
